Welcome to Hola Mundo Beach Camp!
We understand that choosing the right summer program for your child is an important decision. Hola Mundo Beach Camp is a bilingual camp where there is nonstop learning and playing sports at the beach. We are proud to offer a complete program full of activities and diverse sports on the beach for your child to enjoy. But what makes Hola Mundo Beach Camp unique is that the campers will be exposed to the Spanish language while they are playing sports and games, making friends and having fun at the beach!
Hola Mundo Beach Camp offers a variety of sports on the beach including our signature morning game “Mangueras en la playa” (beach flags), beach basketball, beach soccer, beach volleyball, dodge ball, capture the flag, relays and much more. Our water sports include boogie boarding, surfing, stand up paddle boar ding, snorkeling and skim boarding.
In addition our program offers an hour or “relaxed” language lesson through different arts activities, including dancing, singing, culture, beach arts and crafts and sand sculpting, latin american cooking….yes, you read right…we cook at the beach! Our age-appropriate educational games that promote language acquisition is also offered to our campers (“our campers’ favorite Hugging game…juego de los abrazos and Spanish Bingo”).
Every Friday is “Viernes de Diversion” or Fun Friday. It is a special day where the campers for can enjoy Banana Boat Rides (additional fee/optional) and pizza.
Meet Our Directors
Hola Mundo Camp’s director and owner Adriana Chambliss, has directed Hola Mundo Camp since 2002. Adriana is a lawyer and Spanish teacher who has been involved in the camping industry for nearly twenty years, gaining her experience at Camp Tegawitha, a camp for girls in Pennsylvania, where she was a camper for 8 summers. Her goal, since she was young, was to run a bilingual Camp, because her Camp experience allowed her to learn another language while she was making new friends playing games and sports.
Adriana, together with Hola Mundo Beach Camp’s Assistant Directors and certified Elementary and Middle School teachers, Susie Yinger, Renee Zaldivar and Cammie Salzano, works with a year round staff of counselors, coaches and specialty staff to insure that Hola Mundo Beach Camp maintains the highest level of educational, language, and safety program in the day camping industry.
All of the staff are certified teachers, professionals, coaches, certified life guards, college students and trained volunteers (Jr. CIT’S ) who will supervise daily activities and serve as friends and mentors for the campers. Some of these are selected bilingual counselors.
Our staff is young, enthusiastic and very sensitive to each individual child, and by design, Hola Mundo’s small groups will ensure each camper receives one-on-one interaction.
All boys and girls ages 4-13 are welcome to attend Hola Mundo Beach Camp.
