Week 3 - World Cup Week!

Week 3 FUE LA MEJOR!!!! MUNDO DE LA COPA AMERICA!
All campers had a blast!! The groups were named after Latin American Countries. The CIT’s represented Venezuela, the Campers represented Mexico and the younger campers represented Colombia. In Arts and Craft they got to draw and paint their flags on a huge banner which was also displayed in the room the entire week! Mexico was the winner of the “Banner Contest” and the runner up was Venezuela. Each group learned about the country that they represented. Mrs. Chambliss brought in music and pictures of clothing from these countries.
I think our favorite was La Cocina. We learned to make AREPAS and TOSTONES and of course we got to eat it too! Emma loved TOSTONES!
Coach Chris kept us busy in Tennis. At the end of the lesson we played a game against BLANCO y AZUL. This week we also had a great time at Golf. At the driving range Pros Larry and Mike organized a contest who will hit the ball the furthest with our drivers. The winner for the CIT boys was FREDDY. CHRISTINA was the winner for the girl campers.
Coach ALI did a fantastic job in Soccer. Everybody played…everybody wants to play soccer at Camp. She even played with us when we played a scrimmage game. We will miss her next week, but Coach Simon will be here.

Fun Friday or Viernes de Diversion was crazy. Mrs. Chambliss again brought in a huge water slide, a dunk tank, cotton candy and snow cone. People playing golf at Palm Aire wanted to join the party. There were also music and water balloons. The counselors had a fun time with a chocolate syrup, shaving cream and pancake syrup fight. Too bad Campers were not invited to this!
Ms. Yinger and Ms. Geary planned this fun game where the counselors launched water balloons to the fairways and we had to try to catch it with our towels. FUN FUN FUN! Also, we played Spanish telephone and pop the balloon with our feet game against BLANCO y AZUL.
The best part of this week is that we all made so many new friends…CITs have their buddies and they help them all the time. They played BINGO and sit with them at lunch time. Some have volunteered to be with the younger group throughout the day.
As always, don’t forget to check out this week’s Photo Gallery and Video Gallery!

Honestly, earlier, I wasnt looking forward to CPR training. Once I arrived, however, i was proved wrong! This training was both educating…and fun! My peers and I learned very important subjects such as CPR, and what to do when a camper is hurt. This lessons will help me both as a CIT and as a young man. ¡Hola Mundo es el mejor campo nunca!
I learned so much at Hola Mundo. On Thursday May 15, we learned about CPR. I learned so much stuff. The CPR was very educating and interesting. Everything that I learned will help me in the future. We got to practice CPR on dummies. It was so much fun. We learned many other important subjects such as what to do if somebody is drowning. Everything we learned will definently help us and will one day save a life. Thank you Hola Mundo!
